Advanced Audio Distribution Profile designed to transfer 2 channel stereo audio wirelessly from one device to another. The Audi Bluetooth adapter kit includes a USB AMI cable, Bluetooth adapter and Flash drive that contains the software upgrade required to be applied to the MMI system to support this function. Newer cars may already have the updated MMI software. The MMI will determine if an upgrade to the software is needed. 2G systems only.
Only for streaming Music,  not for Bluetooth telephone.

I was ready to pay cash for a 2012 a5 today. But then I found out it doesn't do bluetooth audio streaming, and there's no easy accessory for it. ALL of my music is available streaming - i don't want to carry anything other than my phone. Won't buy a 40k car just to lose all my music. This sucks. Can't believe a company that engineers such nice cars would fail so badly at engineering a modern audio system. I test drove a $22k Ford yesterday that did this. Sigh.

Does not work with MMI 3G. When will Audi step up and provide a feature that is standard on far less advanced cars?

Where is MMI 3G support?? Come on Audi! Bluetooth audio streaming is a standard for cars at this level.

Disappointed that Audi can't improve the MMI system especially when the VW system is sooo superior. I wont buy another audi until MMI and bluetooth capabilities are at least at par with the market.

Echoing the reviews above - really wish this was available for 3G MMI systems. All the competitors have this (BWM, Lexus, heck even Subaru). This is the number one complaint w/ my car, and keeps a number of my friends from switching to Audi (they otherwise love my S4).

I just got a 2011 A4. Boy was I surprised to find out I can't stream audio over Bluetooth. What the heck!!! This is ridiculous.

ABSOLUTELY ridiculous. I want to bluetooth stream my phone AND use my apps (like navigon which is SO much better than the one you offer. Almost made me want to return my brand new car because it is so ridiculous that you are SO far behind what is going on.

How many negative reviews can Audi read before adding Bluetooth playback functionality? Given the fact that Bluetooth works flawlessly with telephony, I'm willing to bet that this problem could be solved with a software update to the current MMI/RNS-E systems.

Still waiting Audi. Please support MMI 3G. Can't believe my Nissan and Hyundai was able to do this, but not my $56K Audi S4. Any eta on a release to support 3G?

i can't agree more...I can't believe that a Toyota Prius can play music off your bluetooth phone, but a fully equipped 2010 Audi S4 can't. So disappointing.

I believe this should come built into the MMI system. I loved using my phone to play music direct through the bluetooth in my old car. 2010 S4 can't support this?

Please support MMI 3G systems. It is very disappointing that a luxury car from Audi today (MY 2010+) cannot support "bluetooth Audio" even when I am ready to pay for this accessory.
